Encouraging growth and opportunity

By cultivating an inclusive work environment at RBC Wealth Management, we create opportunities that empower our people to collaborate, develop and inspire positive change. When our employees thrive and grow, so does our ability to help our clients reach their goals. Our ability to innovate relies on varying perspectives and thoughts to challenge the status quo.

We're committed to building a diverse workforce, which includes individuals of different races, genders, ethnicities, physical and mental abilities, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, religions and socioeconomic status. In addition, we welcome employees to share their thoughts, opinions, backgrounds and experiences, including military veterans.

To make our workplaces, our communities and our world more welcoming for everyone, we all have a responsibility to create an environment in which we can feel safe speaking up for others and also ourselves. As part of RBC’s Speak Up For Inclusion global initiative, “That Little Voice” captures the importance of speaking up

Our vision is to be among the most inclusive workplaces and successful companies, putting diversity into action to help employees, clients and communities thrive. The three pillars of our diversity and inclusion strategy are:

Advancing diversity

Enhancing our hiring and recruitment programs, driving equitable opportunities for pay, promotion and development, and improving diversity in leadership at all levels, across all segments.

Enabling economic inclusion

Influencing equitable access to financial products and services, supporting products, programs and initiatives that create social impact and leveraging our purchasing power to influence supplier and client diversity efforts.

Strengthening inclusion

Focus on enhancing inclusive leadership capabilities among our people, fostering a listening environment, leading with empathy, creating safe spaces and driving accountability.

The RBC Wealth Management–U.S. Diversity Leadership Council (DLC) is responsible for helping to achieve our diversity goals and provide recommendations to further advance our efforts to create an equitable and inclusive work environment.

Additionally, the DLC—led by Tom Sagissor, president of RBC Wealth Management–U.S. and comprised of a cross-functional team of internal thought leaders—serves as diversity ambassadors to promote initiatives across the organization.

Employee resource groups

Our diversity and inclusion efforts span three decades and are advanced by the passion and commitment of our people. Employee resource groups (ERGs) enhance employee engagement and further support our organizational vision and values. We offer active ERGs with executive involvement, including:

Started in 1991, WAFA helps to recruit, retain and enhance the productivity of women financial advisors and directors Started in 1994, MEA is an employee resource group that promotes and embraces inclusion of all employees from all walks of life

Started in 1999, PRIDE fosters a culture of inclusion within the firm and LGBTQ+ community

Started in 2012, VETS is dedicated to honoring individuals with military experience and recognizing loved ones for their support during that service

Started in 2019, WE is an employee resource group established to support the recruitment, development and progression of women

Diversity and inclusion is embedded in our culture. We consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veterans status or any other legally protected factors.
